Conversation with Gay Guy about CA Supreme Court Decision to Uphold Proposition 8

ME: Marriage between a man and a woman is ordained of God and the family is central to the Creator's plan for the eternal destiny of His children.

Gender is an essential characteristic of individual premortal, mortal, and eternal identity and purpose.

Gay Guy: Say I don't believe in God. (which I do...but many dont)

It would be my right as an American to NOT believe in God. Why should your beliefs affect my rights.

Yes this country was founded by religious people, but the Constitution doesnt only apply to God-fearing people

ME: People not believing in God does not change the fact that God exists.

Marriage is an institution. Institutions have requirements to be a part of that institution. For example, the Police are in Institution. Should anyone be able to become a police officer weather they meet the requirements or not? If someone does not meet the requirements, is it "unfair" to not let them become a police officer?

Remember 2 things.

1. The Family is Sacred
2. We all have the right to Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness, but there is no guarantee of Equal Results

The Constitution is based on Principles and Values. Among those Principles and Values are Morality, Virtue and Religion.

Gay Guy: You didn't answer my question!  Why should your beliefs...affect my rights?

Also...say my religion ONLY believes in Same Sex marriage....what would be your argument then?

ME: Answer to your question:

Marriage is not a Right, it is a Privilege.

If this religion that Only believes in Same Sex marriage claims to be Christian I would say your religion is in apostasy.

Why? Because Jesus spoke in specific terms about how He had created intent heterosexuality.
See: Leviticus 18:20, Romans 1:27

Also, there is not one single place in the Bible where God approves of homosexuality. Rather, every place it is mentioned, it is condemned as wrong.

See: Genesis Chapter 3, Matthew 19:4-5
